当晚虽然没有神秘嘉宾助阵 但感觉更像是上海DNB CREW的圣诞家庭聚会 大家亲密的交谈 或者疯狂的跳舞。DJ SIEASTA当晚一袭性感低胸长裙 美丽而优雅 一如既往的征服了大家的理智 她精心安排的圣诞礼物让大家又再次经历一遍 母性DRUM’N'BASS的魅力。至于我们的万人迷MC Charlie 更是变身”黑马王子” 黑色西装 黑色礼帽 以及黑色蝴蝶领结 加上他独特的RE式唱腔 为大家唱响了欢乐的圣诞颂歌。

如果可以 就让这样的夜晚一直持续到圣诞来临 当我们走出舞会 会有雪橇和麋鹿 在外守侯 也许还会看到 疯狂跳舞的 圣诞老人天空开始泛白的时候离开了这个梦想中的舞会 耳边的回响还久久不肯散去 就像大家的心情还依然留在觥筹交错的舞会上。

上海森林在沉浸了漫长的三个月时间后 终于随着BONBON的重新开业 轰轰烈烈的卷土重来啦.人见人爱的大金牙DJ GOLDIE 联同MC Stride满载着所有森林动物的期盼和等待 热热闹闹再次开启了 上海PHREANKTION的大门.

作为Drum and Bass界最有影响力的DJ，Goldie的存在就代表着一个时代的音乐和时尚潮流.还记得07年的BONBON和I LOVE SHANGHAI.GOLDIE的音乐早就已经在上海森林动物们的心里 占据了不可动摇的位置.而今 大家的耳朵越来越挑剔 但他的音乐却带着更加致命的吸引力 让大家又拥有了一个疯狂和满足的夜晚.

一袭黑衣的金牙先生 这次为大家带来的依然是黑暗有力的音乐感受 而更多的音效运用却让大家有了新鲜的体验. MC Stride也慷慨的留出了整个舞台 整晚只是低调的甘当幕后隐藏MC.当音乐开始转向异域中东风格 也迎来了整场气氛最HIGH的部分 大家对于GOLDIE在音乐上的新尝试表现出了相当高的热情 我们的金牙先生也几次做出调皮搞怪的表情来配合大家 场面虽然火爆 却也不失可爱和温馨.

在Goldie的音乐中我们总能清晰地读出他的心情。或许音乐对他来说不仅仅是一种武器,一种宣泄而已 有时甚至更像一个隐秘而安全的藏身地.他和他的音乐一样 永远是矛盾和统一的融合体 傲慢而又迷人.如果说三次的亲密接触都还不够 我们就只能重新开始等待 与这条音乐变色龙 下一次的 疯狂约会了.

Thanks to the Olympics, I had a chance to revisit my roots and travel to my home town Perth in Western Australia. As you might have heard or seen, Perth has one of the largest Drum and Bass scenes in Australia. And has raised, but maybe not creatively inspired, such internationally recognized acts as Greg Packer and Pendulum.

Aside from the Drum and Bass scene, Perth’s nightlife is not very up to date nor is it glamorous. In my opinion, most of the “latest” electronica/hiphop is either from a ministry sound album or no different from the tracks played at the windows trio.

As much of a beat adrenaline junkie as I am, I found my self preferring to head to local contemporary bar next to a yacht club, with a group of old friends, a glass of red, some olives, cheese and bread, playing Jenga while watching the sun disappear over the ocean. (oviously the sun disappears in the east but it is for dramatic effect.)

Perth in a bubble is a great place to retire or raise a family, but with the luxury of being able to head out on a friday or saturday and see amazing residents or international dj’s spinning good drum and bass.

One of Shanghai’s beloved MC’s, Goldie’s trusted right-hand-man, MC Lowqui bid farewell to London, and now living in sunny Australia.

Critical Music is a UK drum n bass label releasing some of the freshest breaks and beats around. Created and nurtured by Kasra, the imprint has gone from strength to strength over the past 5 years and with a white hot release schedule for 2008 continues to move at breakneck speed.

In just over 5 years, Chase & Status have made a meteoric launch into the big time. The duo’s range of aural pleasure ranges from major dance floor anthems such as ‘Duppy Man’ and ‘Hurt You’, down to smooth soulful rollers like ‘Love’s Theme’ and ‘In Love’ featuring Jenna G, and have been present on a slew of labels such as Renegade Hardware, Breakbeat Kaos, Bingo, and Ram Records.

Their latest offering on Ram will drop next month, a gigantic debut LP of beats and bass entitled ‘More Than Alot’.

Like their previous releases, Chase & Status touch on a few different styles on this LP, from the vocal-driven staples like ”Take Me Away” and ”Hurt You” to the dance floor smashers like ”Smash TV”, the ragga-drenched ”Streetlife”, the electro-dubstep hybrid sound of ”Running”, the classic feel of ”Take You There” to their current dubstep smash, ”Eastern Jam” (which has been getting spins from selectors like Skream, Hatcha and Youngsta). Their current single, ”Pieces” (which features Plan B on guitar and vocals), has been heralded by Annie Mac (who calls it ”breathtaking”) and Zane Low (”awesome”), and is a great example of their all-encompassing style. For those who really like seeing a production outfit flexing their creative muscles both inside and outside of their genre, this will be one to check out.

In support of such a heavy release, C&S are embarking on a heavy tour schedule. Make sure you check them when they come to your town. Hopefully we’ll see them in Shanghai soon!

Lock N Load and Alchemy teamed up together to create a very special event to welcome the legend himself Grooverider, who returned back to the UK after a lengthy stretch inside a Dubai prison.

The event, aptly named Return Of The Legend, was held at KOKO on the 11th October 2008 and featured an all-star line up. The event was said to be not only a tribute to the man himself and a big ‘Welcome Home’, but also as a thank you to all those who supported Grooverider in his time of need.
